After the Test : Driving as a Life Skill
Learning From Mistakes
All drivers learn new skills and attitudes all the time from their experiences on the road, and we all develop our own particular driving habits and style over time.
It is good idea to spend a little time reviewing our driving habits. Setting aside some time every month for a chat with your young driver about what they have encountered on the road may prove to be beneficial for both of you .
You could discuss both the young driver's attitude to driving, as well as any events that they encountered during their driving, and didn't deal with in a way that they were happy with.
It can also inform decisions about the Parent / Young Driver Agreement.
The Driving Test and Pass Plus are not the end of driver training, especially if driving leaves you frustrated or you are looking for ways of becoming a safer driver and reducing your fuel bill. Get More From Your Driving gives advice on the advantages of refresher driving courses and advanced driving.
