It is a good idea for you (and the learner) to brush up on The Highway Code, before you take your learner out for private practice.
The Highway Code has probably changed since you last read it, so make sure you get a copy of the latest version from any good bookshop. There is also a free online version of The Highway Code.
An In-depth knowledge of The Highway Code is a must for any road user, not just drivers and motorcyclists. A good idea is to buy your son or daughter a copy of The Highway Code at an early age or when they start to cycle. This will hopefully help them in later life for when they become a driver.
