Preparing for the Test
This section of the website explains what is expected of a learner during the Tests.
There are two sections to the modern day Driving Test:
- The Theory Test
- The Practical Driving Test.
The Theory Test
There are two parts to the Theory Test - a multiple choice questions test and a hazard perception test, both of which take place using a computer. The learner must pass both parts to pass the Theory Test.
The Practical Driving Test
The practical driving test takes place on public roads and is designed to see if the candidate can drive safely and knows the Highway Code.
The learner's instructor will advise when the learner is ready to book the tests.
